As part of National Volunteering Week 2026, Waterford Volunteer Centre will launch its new booklet, Volunteers from Waterford – Stories that Inspire, on Thursday, 21st May at 11am in Garter Lane Theatre, Waterford.Until then, we’re sharing a few sneak peeks into the stories inside — because the best way to celebrate volunteering is by sharing the stories of the people behind it.Meet Constance. At 89 years of age, Constance noticed how long and lonely Sundays could feel — not only for herself, but for many others too. So, she decided to do something about it.What started as a simple Sunday lunch for four people soon grew into a regular gathering for nearly twenty, filled with chats, laughter, tea and friendship.A small idea, a kind heart, and a reminder that sometimes the simplest acts can make the biggest difference 💙Thank you, Constance, and thank you to all the volunteers who quietly make their communities better every day.Interested in hearing the full story?Join us at the booklet launch on Thursday at 11am in Garter Lane Theatre, Waterford. #NVWIreland #volunteerwaterford #volunteerireland #IVY2026 #WFORDstories2026 ...
