Waterford Volunteer Centre

Waterford Volunteer Centre is committed to strengthening and supporting all aspects of volunteering across the city and county of Waterford. Waterford Volunteer Centre is part of the national network of volunteer centres, supported by Volunteer Ireland and funded by The Department of Rural and Community Development. The Centre officially launched on May 20th 2021. Waterford Volunteer Centre is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status and is managed by a voluntary board of trustees.

Waterford Volunteer Centre provides a placement service, matching individuals who would like to volunteer, with non-profit organisations who involve volunteers in their activities. We offer advice and support to both volunteers and non-profit organisations through a range of services including information, consultation, volunteer management training and Garda vetting administration.

Governance

We are a Company Limited by Guarantee Company Registration Number: 676571 We are a registered Charity and are compliant with the Charities Regulator: CRA Number 20205996 The Company is limited by guarantee and governed by a Board of Directors. As it is a non-profit organisation there are no shareholders and any profits are reinvested in the company. Although Waterford Volunteer Centre is an independent company, it is also part of the network of 29 Volunteer Centres and an affiliate of Volunteer Ireland. We publish an Annual Report and produce audited accounts each year.

Réka has just recently joined the team and brings extensive experience of working with and managing volunteers to the manager's role.

Development Officer/Garda Vetting Liaison

Paul has been with the Volunteer Centre since it opened. He works with volunteers and organisations to ensure that the experience of volunteering is the best it can be.

Anna Kachanivska

Migrant Outreach Worker

Anna joined the Volunteer Centre as a Ukrainian Outreach Worker and has since widened her role to work with all volunteers from outside Ireland.

Vicky Wall

Volunteer Support Coordinator

Vicky works with volunteers on various projects throughout the year, including seasonal projects like the Ambassador Programme.
