The biggest survey on volunteering and social engagement is coming to Ireland
Join the Irish Volunteering Index
Waterford Volunteer Centre is encouraging all Volunteer Involving Organisations across the county to take part in the new Irish Volunteering Index, launching as part of International Volunteer Year 2026.
This national survey, led by Volunteer Ireland in partnership with Bpact, will help build a clear picture of volunteering in Ireland — who volunteers, why they get involved, what challenges they face, and how volunteering can be strengthened in the future.
By taking part, your organisation will receive a free, tailored report with insights specific to your volunteers. This can support funding applications, planning, and communication with your local community. Getting involved also ensures Waterford is well represented and helps strengthen volunteering across the county.
The survey is completely free, launches in September, and results will be available in December.
