Volunteer Trustee Development Network Conference 2026

Building the Pipeline: Sustainable Boards, Leadership & Succession

Waterford and Wexford Volunteer Centres invite you to a conference marking the close of the Volunteer Trustee Development Network project.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to shape a support framework for voluntary trustees and community development.

What is it about?

The conference will consolidate the learning and celebrate what has been achieved throughout the term of this innovative project, while looking ahead to one of the most important challenges facing voluntary and community organisations and small charities:

“How do we grow the pipeline of trustees and future leaders so that our organisations can thrive in the future?”

Through keynote speech, discussions and workshops, we will explore practical approaches to leadership, board recruitment and succession, diversity, organisational culture and development.

Join The Governance Horizon workshop, and help to map the support and resource needs for the community and voluntary sector, both now and in the future.

You will also have an opportunity to network and meet many of the people who can support you in your mission.

Who is the conference for?

The conference is particularly relevant to:

  • Trustees, board members and committee members.
  • Leaders and managers of charities, community and voluntary organisations.
  • Organisations involved in community development.
  • Anyone interested in developing the next generation of trustees and voluntary sector leaders.

Come along to meet other trustees and organisations, share experiences and ideas, and explore practical ways of building stronger, more sustainable boards for the future.

The project is funded by Training Links. Places are limited, so we encourage you to register early.
