Ukrainian Volunteer Outreach Worker
We have a fixed-term part-time contract (28hours/week until December 22nd 2023) for a paid Outreach Worker to support Ukrainian people who are volunteering within their community.
Key responsibilities of the Volunteer Outreach Worker:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Increasing access to and awareness of volunteering to the Ukrainian and migrant communities in Waterford.
- Developing promotional material and social media in English, Ukrainian and Russian
- Meeting with individuals both at the volunteer centre and outreach clinics to promote engagement in volunteering activities in those areas and across the county
- Visiting those residing in rest centres and hotels to promote volunteering and provide information on local Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIOs) and current volunteering opportunities
- Engaging with VIO’s to promote inclusive volunteering opportunities.
- Attending local networking events and activities to promote inclusion in volunteering.
Reporting to: Waterford Volunteer Centre Manager
Base: Based in Waterford City with outreach across the county
Salary: €16:50 p/h. This is a fixed-term position finishing on December 22nd, 2023.
Hours: 28 hours per week with flexible approach for occasional weekend and evening work.
